.54 Pistol, in real-life known as PSM (Pistolet Samozaryadniy Malogabaritniy - Self-loading Compact Pistol) is a 5.45x18mm Russian-built handgun issued to Spetsnaz agents for concealed carry. The weapon appears in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin.

DescriptionEdit

It fires a lightweight, small diameter bullet that has a steel core and is capable of piercing some Kevlar body armor vests. It is sometimes confused with the Soviet Makarov PM pistol (9x18mm), while they look a little bit similar they are two completely different handguns.

AvailabilityEdit

Hitman 2: Silent AssassinEdit

It can only be found in in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. The PSM is available on only two levels, which are St. Petersburg Stakeout and Invitation to a Party. It is carried by a soldier at one of the roadblocks in St. Petersburg Stakeout and by the Spetsnaz agent in Invitation to a Party.

TriviaEdit

  • The actual pistol's name is PSM 5.45x18mm, not MAKAROV. The PM Makarov fires a completely different 9x18mm cartridge and is in no way similar to the PSM. They are two completely different firearms. The PSM was designed in 1969 while the Makarov was developed in 1951. The Makarov pistol was the standard issue sidearm for the USSR from 1951 to 1991, although it still remains in service. The PSM was popular with KGB and the Militsiya (Police) and higher echelon Communist party members.
  • In real life, the PSM pistol has an 8 round magazine.
