The SP12 Shotgun, also referred to as the SPAS-12, is a black, semi-automatic shotgun modeled by Luigi Franchi. It is featured in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution. A similar shotgun, the Bartoli 12G, is featured in the World of Assassination trilogy.
Description[]
It is a black, semi-automatic shotgun. The SP12 is modeled after the Italian Luigi Franchi S.p.A SPAS-12 shotgun, which is no longer manufactured in real life.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin[]
The SP12 Shotgun has the highest reload speed of any weapon in this installment and boasts incredible damage, but is not concealable, and can very quickly blow the players cover. It has an 8 shell load. It shares it's ammunition with the Double Barreled Shotgun and it's sawn-off variant.
Hitman: Contracts[]
The SP12, named the SPAS 12 in this entry, remains mostly unchanged. It is incredibly powerful, surpassed only by Sniper Rifles and the Minigun. It has a much quicker reload time, in keeping with it's 8 shell load. Like it's previous incarnation, it can quickly blow the player's cover if they are not in disguise. It also once again shares it's ammo with the Double-Barreled Shotgun, and the Sawn-Off Shotgun.
Hitman: Blood Money[]
This weapon is one of the five customizable "personal" weapons in the game. Its stock magazine holds 6 rounds instead of 8, but the weapon can be extensively upgraded. For a list of customizable upgrades, see SP12 Shotgun upgrades. The player automatically receives it upon first entering the Hideout level, which follows the Death of a Showman training mission.

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
- In Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, the SP12 Shotgun's weapon description states that the weapon is capable of fully-automatic fire, even though the weapon used by the player in game is only capable of semi-automatic fire.
Hitman: Contracts
- The SPAS-12 in Hitman: Contracts is incorrectly listed as a rifle in the weapon selection screen.

General
- In real life, the SPAS-12 can be switched between a manually operated pump action and gas operated semi automatic mainly for using military grade shells.
- It is one of only two available shotguns in the series which can be suppressed.
- Most SPAS-12 shotguns already have the stock available for use, unlike in Hitman: Blood Money, where you have to purchase it.
- Even when used with the silencer equipped, the nature of the weapon will affect any stealth mission. This makes it an unlikely choice for 47 himself.
- In Blood Money, the weapon can switch ammunition type, while the SP12 in other games seems to use buckshot round.
