The Finish Line is the second mission in HITMAN™ 2. 47 attends the Global Innovation Race in Miami, Florida, USA, in order to eliminate one of the drivers, and CFO of Berlin-based tech consortium Kronstadt Industries, Sierra Knox, and her father, former-driver and co-founder and CEO of Kronstadt, Robert Knox.
The Finish Line[]
Last year, despotic ruler, Jin Po, employed prototype Kronstadt drones against peaceful civilian protestors in the now-infamous "Tungan Valley incident." And although it has yet to be proven, there is little doubt that the Knoxes personally brokered the deal, making them complicit in a war crime. It is unclear why the Knoxes would betray their masters, but likely, the fear of being next on the shadow client's hit list has pressured them to cut a deal with the enemy.
Undoubtedly, with Kronstadt Industries on their side, the militia will increase their attacks ten-fold, and so our contract obligates us to retire Robert and Sierra Knox and contain the damage they may inflict on Providence. I will leave you to prepare."
MISSION ACTIVE
Description[]
After the success of 47's assassination of Alma Reynard, the ICA have uncovered two Providence members who are planning to defect to the Shadow Client's militia: Robert Knox, the head of technology company Kronstadt Industries, and his daughter Sierra Knox. Fearful that they may be targeted by the militia, they have decided to cut a deal with the Shadow Client, leaving to Providence requesting their removal before their resources can be used by the militia.
47 must eliminate them both, during a car race at the Miami Bayside Center.

Derek McInnis, chief android engineer at Kronstadt, apparently keeps a series of personal journals. Here, McInnis explores the nature of Robert Knox and details a complex relationship between the two men. The journal is at times rather incoherent, rambling about the genius of Knox while at the same time raging about the decisions he's making from a business perspective. It's clear that McInnis, while he has great admiration for Knox, has a deep hatred towards his boss. Possibly fueled by an inferiority complex and an incident involving Knox "rescuing" McInnis from the Yakuza while working in Tokyo. The fact that Knox frequently brings it up seems to frustrate McInnis. |

Escalation Contracts[]
There are currently seven Escalation Contracts available in Miami:
Elusive Targets[]
This is the list of Elusive Targets released in Miami, with reactivations occuring exclusively in HITMAN™ 2.
Target Lockdown[]
If a target lockdown occurs whilst Sierra Knox is out of the car, she will be escorted to the pit building locker room, or her private room on the second floor of the Kronstadt Paddock, or the blackmail meet-up area at the side of the Flamingo Hotel.
Robert Knox will go to the Bayside Center's rooftop gym, or the aquarium, where he will stand underneath the display shark, which can be shot to complete the challenge "Under the Sea". He will also attempt to evacuate the level via the rooftop helicopter if he is tricked into eliminating Sierra Knox with a carbomb, which will result in failing the mission (this humorously still works even if the helicopter has been replaced by a bird's nest by disguising yourself as a Mascot).
Trivia[]
- If everyone on the map is killed (besides 47), the race announcer will speak with a Scottish accent and comment on the mass death. This is a reference to the Scottish YouTuber bigMooney06, who is well known for his Hitman videos, most notably his "Kill Everyone" challenges. BigMooney was also the designer for one of the level's escalations.
- With proper timing, it is possible to eliminate Sierra Knox with a remote explosive thrown from one of the overpasses above the racetrack; however, proximity explosives seem to detonate shortly after being thrown regardless of whether there is a vehicle near them.
- Despite being a Kronstadt product, the Octane Booster is found in several competitor's garages.
- The level contains three exit-related Easter Eggs:
- First, whilst having a fish equipped, you must run on each of the panels by the Dolphin Fountain in the order of each one spouting water. All fountains except one will cease spraying water water will as 47 approaches the water spray. Run to the only spouting fountain, from one to the next, to unlock the secret exit.
- The next is simply exiting via the Bayside Center rooftop helicopter whilst disguised as a Mascot. The helicopter will have been replaced with a different type of exit.
- Finally, if you eliminate Sierra and Robert Knox whilst disguised as the Pale Rider, go to the Kronstadt garage still disguised as the Pale Rider. Not only does this unlock a secret exit, but Diana will say some lines of dialogue describing 47, a references the way the Stig (who is the inspiration for the Pale Rider disguise) is introduced in the long-running BBC TV series Top Gear.
- PALLAS can be used to eliminate anyone that has a picture of them on the map: Robert Knox, Sierra Knox, Moses Lee, Derek McInnis, Ted Mendez, Florida Man and any mascot, each coming with unique dialogue from the android.
- If the android eliminates a mascot while you are disguised as one, every single NPC except the targets will turn into the mascot in the picture, and will even walk around like a mascot, although their other mannerisms and voices will not change.
- Oddly for an automotive-themed mission, there are no car batteries in the level.
- The "Push Robert Knox on Sierra Knox" kill is impossible in real life. If the car is going 180 miles per hour, then the timing on the push would have to be much earlier than ingame.
- The cars in the Global Innovation Race resemble Le Mans prototype cars (in this case, the Audi R18 TDI from 2011), on the front. On the rear and side profile, however, they resemble the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo concept car (also known for Le Mans prototype-like styling). The cars in this mission may also be a reference to Daytona Prototype cars in the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, or concepts for the upcoming Le Mans Hypercar class.
